People like to call this town Sac of Tomatoes. It started as a slur but now people have taken ownership of it and embraced it. It has gone from being a slur to more of a badge of honor. We live in the heart of the greatest food basket in the world and we live it year round. It is alive in neighborhoods across the game board where there are thousands of people growing the greatest variety of food. What better place to celebrate this than Gardenland. Originally a Portuguese and Mexican neighborhood this area has small homes and nice lots that are great for gardens.
The tomato art was an early idea and I had no idea where to put it. When I hit upon adding Gardenland as a space on the board it seemed to be a natural fit.
